Andrew.
Just a heads up, the wireless zero config
service is also needed for 802.1x which can be used with a wired
connection. When this is disabled, you won't get the
authentication tab in the network connection properties. My
school currently uses 802.1x for wired and wireless
authentication and this service needs to be enabled.
