Control Panel - Mobile PC
A friend of mine (yes, I actually have one) asked how I put
up with all the dumb questions I must get. That's easy to
answer. Many years ago in a class I asked a question I felt
was perfectly legitimate. I still remember the laughter, but
not nearly as vividly as I did for a few months afterward.
Fortunately, I had a professor that answered my question
without batting an eye and moved on with the lecture. And
yeah, it was a dumb question and one I should have known the
answer to, but I didn't, so to me it was a viable question.
That just reinforced my belief that the only dumb question
is the one that never gets asked. That said, if you're
sitting there wondering why you don't have the [Mobile PC]
category it's because you aren't using a mobile PC or
whatever name you call a laptop. It just doesn't show up on
a desktop system.

Windows Mobility Center
- Basically, a mini control panel within Control Panel that applies
to functions 'someone' has deemed the most likely to be accessed on
a regular basis by mobile PC users. I don't really see the point of
this item, but then I almost never use a laptop on the road. For
those that do there may be some value in having this selection of
controls in one grouping.

Power Options
- The only difference between [Power Options] listed here in the
[Mobile PC] category and the one listed in [System and Maintenance]
category is the sub-links appearing beneath [Power Options]. Within
the sub-links, [Change Battery Settings] takes you to the screen
[Figure 03] where a power plan can be selected. The [Change When The
Computer Sleeps] button will deliver you directly to the screen for
the power plan setting that's currently selected. The rest of the
sub-links lead to the [Define Power Buttons And Turn On Password
Protection] [Figure 04] screen.

Personalization
- All [Personalization] does is lead to a screen that is a duplicate
of the
Appearance and
Personalization > Personalization
section of Control Panel. Use the link if you want to review the
different items in more detail.

- Again, this is a duplicate of the [Tablet PC Settings] screen that
is found in
Control Panel > Hardware and
Sounds section of Control
Panel. Use the link if you want to review the different items in

- And once again, this is a duplicate of the [Sync Center] screen
that is found in
