Knowledge Base Index
It's always been my
feeling that when one is dealing with a computer problem, it makes
sense to go to the company that made the product for a solution. The
same thing holds true for Windows XP. Microsoft developed it and
brought it to the marketplace so it only makes sense they would hear
about the majority of the problems. Unfortunately, support for a
product isn't cheap and is only as good as the support technicians
who dispense the problem solving advice. To Microsoft's credit, they
have developed the Knowledge Base which consists of over 250,000
articles that deal with a wide range of products and issues. On the
down side, it's not the easiest thing to use or find what you're
looking for. On the plus side, it's free to anyone with internet
access.
This section of TEG
deals strictly with the Knowledge Base. I use it frequently and
whenever I do a search I always save it for future reference. The
sections listed below are by no means complete and are based on
search criteria I've used personally. Just because you don't find an
article you need listed here, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It
merely means I haven't had it turn up in any of my searches. Use the
Official Microsoft Knowledge Base site and do your own search. I
usually update these pages about the first of every month so keep
that in mind when looking for extremely recent articles.
Remember: The KB
searches listed below were run only on Windows XP with the
Keyword being the title of the search.
Note: These pages may load quite slowly. Be aware before you click.
