1. Anyone that knows me is well aware that my language tends to be a bit ‘salty’ at times. If I can curb my tongue and mind my language in this forum, so can you. If you need guidance regarding language acceptability, refer to the classic George Carlin routine of the seven words you can’t say on television.

2. Posts that are threatening, defamatory, vulgar, sexually explicit, obscene, or derogatory will be removed from the board. Penalties for violating this policy range from a warning to being banned from the forum. Bans are solely at my discretion, permanent, and may not be appealed.

3. Any personal attack, threat, or insult directed toward a member or guest of The Elder Geek on Windows Forum will result in the poster being banned from the forum. Bans are solely at my discretion, permanent, and may not be appealed.

4. Use common sense when selecting a user name, avatar, and signature. If you think it may be inappropriate, chances are good that others may also feel that way. Member avatars are limited in size to 128x128 pixels with a maximum file size of 20k. I prefer you link to your avatar, but uploaded avatars are currently allowed. If the upload policy is abused I will revert to allowing only linked avatars.

5. No commercial posting is allowed on The Elder Geek on Windows Forum. This includes signatures with links to commercial products. All commercial posts will be removed from the forum. Links to commercial product sites are appropriate when germane to the topic being discussed. Links placed solely to advertise products for the benefit of the poster are inappropriate and will be removed. If it is detemined that a member has joined the forum solely for the purpose of posting SPAM, all posts/threads by that member will be removed and that member will be banned. Bans are solely at my discretion, permanent, and may not be appealed.

6. The Elder Geek on Windows Forum and The Elder Geek on Windows does not guarantee the accuracy of any information contained in forum posts. Under no circumstances will The Elder Geek on Windows Forum and The Elder Geek on Windows be held responsible for the content.

7. The Elder Geek on Windows Forum and The Elder Geek on Windows respects all intellectual copyrights. To that end, if it doesn’t belong to you and wasn’t created by you, don’t post it in the forum. This includes pirated software (commonly known as warez), links to pirated software, music or other types of multimedia files, key generators, hacks, cracks, passwords or password generators. Posts will be removed that violate any intellectual property copyright. If, in my opinion, the infringement is deliberate the poster will be banned from the forum. Any attempt to disrupt the normal flow of operations via flooding or user account abuse will be considered a Denial Of Service attack and reported to the posters Internet Service Provider (ISP).
